Edie Williams
August 4, 1939 to December 7, 2010

As well as raising children; Brenda, Stewart, Craig and Alison, Edie was active in the community as a devout Anglican and a supporter of the Saskatoon Shrine club, Daughters of the Nile and the Eastern Star. She seemed to possess talents for all things Scottish. She made and repaired kilts for dancers and pipers, she created banners and favours for special events and dinners and she made more haggis than most of us will ever consume for groups across the city, including the haggis for our annual Burns suppers at St. Andrew’s College. At the encouragement of her children she began dancing with the Saskatoon Scottish Country dancers, dancing until just before she entered hospital in the fall. Edie’s illness caused her to miss an event she had dearly anticipated, the “Kirkin’ of the Tartans” at St. George’s Anglican Church that November. We give thanks for Edie’s many gifts and the ways she helped us to treasure the Scottish cultural heritage.
